Sleazan: D&D

Helps

Brief History of Sleazan

Ancient Times: Current known information mainly pertains to Tylbo. This era ended with Tylbo, his family, and friends constructing the first house designed for feral/quadrupedal beings. This marked the beginning of the integration of these two types of beings.
Middle Ages: There are currently no known events from this period, except for the fact that Rethod Yerkovich ended the Middle Ages by finding the crystal that contained all evil along with magical power.
New Ages: During the New Ages, most events revolved around this crystal and its guardians. During this period, beings with crystals on their foreheads were born, sealing their fate as guardians of the crystal. Azaruth Xalun was one such being. He was tainted by the crystal, which eventually imprisoned him. When his granddaughter was guarding the crystal, he broke free, destroying the crystal and releasing all the evil contained within. However, magical power did not return. Elaine Xalun, with the help of Natelien Zurwill, ultimately defeated Azaruth, closing the Middle Ages. By this time, approximately half of the feral/quadrupedal beings lived in dwellings, while the rest remained in the wild.
Modern Ages: This is where our story takes place. We will focus mainly on the beginning of this era. It is well-known that Elaine did not necessarily die, as she turned to stone upon learning of Natelien’s death. This is why the presence of magic can still be felt at her grave to this day. After Azaruth's death, various drugs became widespread, including the so-called Black Crystal. As this was the most well-known, many tried to replicate it, albeit unsuccessfully. Its origin was unknown, with only rumors suggesting that Azaruth's remaining followers developed and spread it. Consequently, there were also rumors that this drug could grant magical power to its user. As for the details of Dhairthel’s story and the extent of knowledge about him until the meeting, we will discuss this during character creation. In this era, most beings lived in houses rather than the wild.

Environment and Terrain

The environment and terrain will mainly be the city, but there may be areas outside the city as well.

Use of Objects and Equipment

Before fighting, it is worth repairing your equipment, reloading your weapons, and healing, since during a fight this can be used as an action, a bonus action, or it may not be possible at all.

Combat Tactics and Strategies

Optimize your attack and defense moves to reach your targets.
Pay attention to distances to avoid enemy attacks and maximize your own effectiveness.
Use appropriate weapons and abilities suited to the situation, such as choosing between melee and ranged options.
You can design your team to leverage each character’s strengths.
Plan the positioning of team members in advance to maximize efficiency and minimize risk.
Make sure to take advantage of natural defenses provided by the environment, and don’t rely solely on your own AC.

Economic System and Trade

The economic system and trade are fundamental elements of the game world. You can build your character's economic situation as follows:
- Currencies and Prices: Pay attention to the currencies used in the game and the fluctuations in prices.
- Economic Mechanisms: Understand how the economy works and how it can affect your character's opportunities.
- Buying and Selling: Utilize trading opportunities to acquire or sell equipment and supplies. You don’t have to shop only in stores; you can also trade with other characters.
Manage your economic situation and trading activities wisely for the advancement of your character.

Social Interactions

Relationships between characters significantly influence the course of the game and the development of the story. These relationships can shape characters' behavior, decisions, and their role in the world. Dynamics between characters—whether friendships, rivalries, or alliances—directly impact the narrative and the evolution of characters. Through events, quests, and other game mechanics, the development of these relationships can introduce new challenges and opportunities for the characters.
During the game, it is important to monitor how character relationships evolve and how these relationships affect the gameplay. Use available records to track relationships, such as friendships, hostilities, and alliances. Maintaining relationships with NPCs is especially crucial in a world surrounded by gangs and other factions, as these relationships can significantly affect the characters' positions and opportunities within the game world.

Reputation

A character's reputation affects how others perceive them, so keep it high and avoid damaging it.
Reputation can continuously change based on the characters' decisions and performance. Pay attention to it to successfully navigate the game world.

Gangs and Alliances

Below is an overview of how gangs and alliances influence the game:
- Gangs: These are groups organized around common interests or goals. Belonging to a gang can provide advantages, such as resources or support. Conversely, relationships with hostile gangs can create disadvantages, affecting the characters' opportunities.
- Alliances: Alliances are agreements formed to achieve common goals. These relationships can bring both benefits and drawbacks.
Pay attention to how gangs and alliances evolve throughout the game, as they can significantly impact the characters' social standing and opportunities.

Hidden Information and Secrets

The game world contains many pieces of information and secrets that can affect character development and the storyline:
- Hidden Information: Secret or concealed data that can be discovered through research or special tools.
- Secrets: Knowledge or events that may be crucial to the story.
Pay attention to hidden information and secrets to fully take advantage of the opportunities in the game world, or to uncover information about others that has been previously kept from you.

Missions and Objectives

Various quests can occur throughout the story, either for one individual or for multiple individuals. These quests can also be given by NPCs, in addition to the main quest.

Character creation: Request

After registration, you'll have the opportunity to create and request a character.
When making a request, you'll need to provide the following information and make selections:
- Name: The character's name. This can be a unique or real name that fits the character's background.
- Species: The character's species (e.g., human, elf, dwarf, dragon, etc.). This may affect the character's abilities, stats, and how they are perceived in the world.
- Type: If the character is Anthro/Bipedal, they have a humanoid body structure, typically walking on two legs and using their hands for activities. If the character is Feral/Quadrupedal, they have an animalistic body structure, walking on four or more legs, with their movement and activities adapted accordingly. Of course, their front limbs are still capable of grasping and performing tasks similar to the hands of their Anthro/Bipedal counterparts.
- Flight Capability: If the character has wings or some integrated device that allows them to fly, this can be indicated here.
- Forgotten, Magic-Wielding Ancestors: If the character had ancestors who could wield magic, it can be indicated here. This cannot be changed later.
- Height/Length: The character's body size, which affects movement and interactions. If the character walks on four legs, the length must also be specified.
- Mandatory Feats: There are mandatory feats that must be selected according to the character's background. Work Style: Solo Work or Team Work. Weapon - Proficiency: Ranged Weapon Proficiency or Melee Weapon Proficiency.
- Optional Feat: Based on the character's background, an additional feat can be selected. This could be a better, stronger version of the previously selected feats, or an entirely new one.
- Other Information and Short Background Story: A brief description of the character's personality, motivations, and important details.
- Current Story Code: To request a character, you need to provide the current code, which can be obtained from the Game Master.

Character creation: Other data entry

After the application has been successfully submitted, the GM will contact you, and together you will fill in the remaining details.
During this process, you will also discuss the short background story, and if necessary, the GM may adjust it slightly.
The data provided here includes the following:
- Draconium: This is where the amount of money the player will start with is determined. This can vary depending on the character's background.
- Current Location: Here, the starting location of the character in Selyvosky will be determined, as well as from where they will reach DDT.
- Gangs: If the character is part of a gang, it will be listed here, along with their role within the gang, unless they are just an honorary member. The gang can be their main gang or one in which they serve as a mole.
- Appearance: This is where the first image of the character will be uploaded. It doesn’t necessarily have to be the character’s token, but it’s primarily for the character’s appearance.
- Current Level: The character's current level will also be specified here. If someone joins later in the story, they obviously won’t start at LvL 1.
- Stats: The character's stats will also be determined here. At LvL 1, you need to distribute 60 points across 6 attributes (Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma).

Character creation: Specifying connections from the background

Although the character creation itself has already been completed, a very important part still remains. And that's giving background connections. These relationships can be good or bad, the character's background decides about them.

Species

You can choose any species, whether bipedal or quadrupedal. Species have a historical and characterizing role.

Classes

There are no strictly defined classes, so every player can play the role they want.
